*St. Andrews Convent School, Sham Chaurasi* organized a grand awareness program and pledge ceremony on *"Harmful Effects of Drug Abuse"* in collaboration with *Brahma Kumaris Sabha*.
*All staff members and students* of the school participated enthusiastically in the program. The main objective was to keep the younger generation away from the evils of drug abuse and to build them into healthy, disciplined and value-based citizens.
Senior members of Brahma Kumaris Sabha elaborated on the physical, mental and social ill-effects of drugs. They explained how drug addiction not only deteriorates a person's health but also destroys families and society. They also shared simple techniques of meditation, yoga and positive thinking to overcome stress and bad habits.
The highlight of the program was the *Drug-Free Pledge* administered by the Brahma Kumaris sisters to all students and staff. Everyone took a pledge to stay away from drugs themselves and to motivate others to do the same.
*MD Mr. Ramesh Saini Ji* addressed the gathering and said, _"Drug abuse is an evil that destroys a person's dreams, family and the future of the nation. You all are the future of the country. Channelize your energy into studies, sports and social service. Building a drug-free society is the foundation of a developed and strong India."_
*Principal Shama Saini* said, _"The aim of the school is not just to provide education but to ensure the holistic development of children. This initiative by Brahma Kumaris Sabha is highly commendable. Such programs sow the seeds of confidence, self-respect and good values in students."_
TheSchool Management expressed gratitude to Brahma Kumaris Sabha and assured that more such moral and social awareness programs will be conducted regularly.
